Obituary of Shirley A. Hasenauer

Bergen ~ Shirley A. Hasenauer, age 77, formerly of Churchville and LeRoy, passed away Thursday evening (July 18, 2019) at Unity Hospital in the loving presence of her family.

     She was born August 18, 1941 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Harley and Marian Long Airth Sr.

     Shirley will be remembered as loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and dear friend to many.  She was a dedicated employee of the New York State School for the Blind and a devoted member and very active in Stone Church Presbyterian Church.  She was known to be a sports enthusiast, a fan of the NY Yankees and Washington Redskins and in her earlier years, was involved in managing and coaching in the ladies softball leagues.

     She is survived by her daughters, Kelly Hasenauer of Bergen, Jody (Michael) King of E. Bethany and Marcy Johnson (Matt Verschage) of Piffard; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Harley (Terri) Airth Jr.; sister, Helen Airth; niece, Christine (Thomas) Kolb, along with many dear friends. 

     She was predeceased by her son, Michael Hasenauer.

     Family and friends are invited to her Service of Remembrance on Saturday, July 27 at 11:00 AM at the Stone Church Presbyterian Church, 7549 S. Lake Road (Rt. 19), Bergen, NY 14416.  Interment will be private.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to either the Stone Church Presbyterian Church or the Kidney Foundation of WNY at 110 Broadway, Buffalo, NY 14203.
