Obituary of Roger T. Rizzo
Batavia ~ Roger T. Rizzo, age 65, formerly of Texas, passed away early Sunday morning (Feb. 16, 2014) in the presence of his loving family after an extended illness.
Mr. Rizzo was born December 7, 1948 in Batavia, a son of the late Samuel and Rose Penepento Rizzo.
Mr. Rizzo graduated from Texas Women’s College in 2005 with a master’s degree in Nursing. He worked for Methodist Medical Center in Houston as a nurse practitioner and administrator. Since 2011, Roger served the neurology department at Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple. As a clinician, he provided extraordinary care and compassion to his patients and their families.
Devoted to his family, loyal to his endless and ever growing circle of friends, and a dedicated clinical care giver, he positively impacted all who crossed his path. He was the “fun” Uncle who was quick to smile, easy to laugh, and never met a stranger. He was a cherished friend and a man devoted to his faith.
Mr. Rizzo is survived by his loving family and caregivers - sister Rozella Smith of Batavia, brother Samuel Rizzo of LeRoy, and many devoted nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Philip Rizzo, Leonard Rizzo, Joseph Rizzo, Irene Alfieri and Mary Ann Cimetta.
Friends of the family may call on Friday from 4 ~ 7 P.M. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19 north), LeRoy. Roger's mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Joseph's Oratory, 27 Lake Street, LeRoy.
