Obituary of Josephine L. O'Geen

Rochester ~ Josephine L. "Josie" O'Geen, age 97, passed away Thursday evening (November 14, 2019) at Unity Hospital in the loving presence of her family.

     She was born October 16, 1922 in LeRoy, a daughter of the late Charles and Carrie Cordaro Drayo.

     Josie was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who was known for her generosity, her love of family and faith and her never ending dish of candy. She loved all children, especially babies with those chubby cheeks.  Josie worked at the downtown Rochester Sibley's in the deli department during the early and mid 1960's. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles, attending movies and playing cards.  Her family will miss her home baked cupcakes, cookies, brownies and cakes.

     She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Roberta Svendsen of Rochester and son, Robert O'Geen of Chili; grandsons, Brian Svendsen and Erik Svendsen; great-granddaughters, Anna Grace Gawens, Alexandra, Brenna, Emily and Caitlyn Svendsen, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

     Josie was predeceased by her son, Richard O'Geen and siblings, Phil Drayo, Sarah Drayo and Antoinette "Andy" Frank.

     Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4 ~ 8 P.M. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy.  Her Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake St., LeRoy.  Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
