LeRoy ~ Samuel J. Maloni, age 81, formerly of West Main Street Road, passed away Friday afternoon (December 4, 2020) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.

     He was born January 27, 1939 in Batavia, a son of the late Nunzio and Stella Macugowski Maloni.

     Sam will be remembered as a very kind and caring man, who loved to cook and bake.  He was known for delicious pizzas out of the LB Grand in LeRoy.  Growing up, Sam was a member of St. Joseph's Church and worked from time to time at his aunt Jenny Malone's grocery store on Bacon Street.  He went on to work for the Pembroke Central School District as a special education teacher and retired with 33 years of dedicated service.  He enjoyed attending the various luncheons and gatheringss with his retired teacher friends over the years.  He was also an avid horseracing fan.

     He is survived by his brother-in-law, Ronald Piazza; sister-in-law, Cindy Maloni; special great-niece, Nicolena; special great-nephew, Nathan, along with many other loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and dear friends.

     In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis "Dolly" Piazza, brother, Joseph Maloni and nephews, Joseph Jr., John and Nicholas.

     Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

     Memorials are suggested to the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home - Sunshine Fund or to an organization of the donor's choice.
