Obituary of John D. Keenan

Caledonia ~ Passed away on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021 at age 84.  He was born Feb. 2, 1936 in Caledonia, a son of the late Andrew and Blanche Leathersich Keenan.

     John will be remembered as a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend, who was dedicated to his family and his community.  He was a proud US Army veteran, ran his own electrical contracting business, along with many other jobs and served on many town, village and church boards.

     He will be sadly missed by his children; Joan (Charles) Robinson, Michael Keenan (Terri Lambert) and Daniel (Barbara) Keenan; grandchildren, Chad Robinson, Kailee (Travis) Salamone, Kasey (Seth) Mitchum, Kevin (Janey) Keenan and Emma Keenan; great-grandchildren, Aizlyn, Jozlyn, Zaydalynn, Madelynn, Kayleigh and Abbygale; siblings, Robert Keenan of FL, Mary Sickles, Marilyn (C. Richard) Fisher and Melville (Martha) Keenan, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

     He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Callan Keenan and his siblings, Margaret Steiner, James Keenan, Marion Wood, William Keenan and Marjorie Gray.

     Due to COVID restrictions, a private funeral mass will be held at St. Columba Church on Saturday, Feb. 6., however friends are invited to join the family at St. Columba Cemetery at 11:00 AM for committal prayers and military honors.  A Celebration of John’s Life will immediately follow at Jones Hall.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Caledonia Library, 3108 Main Street Caledonia or the Big Springs Museum, Main St., Caledonia.
