Obituary of Donna L. Ashley

Stafford ~ Donna L. Ashley, age 86, passed away Saturday (June 19, 2021) at home, in the loving presence of her family.

     She was born October 29, 1934 in Emporium, PA, a daughter of the late Frank and Helma Van Epps Ellis.    

     Donna, better known as “Mom-Mom” will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and a dear friend to many.  She was a graduate of Cameron County High School in Emporium, PA and went on to received her degree as a registered nurse from Buffalo General Nursing School.  Her career as a devoted nurse spanned 40 years when she retired from the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home in 1996.

     She is survived by her children, Mark (Laura) Ashley, Michael Ashley, Matthew (Rebecca) Ashley and Anne Phillips; her grandchildren, Misty Ashley, Deanne Ashley, Andrew (Jennalee) Ashley, Ethan Ashley and Dylan (Alyssa) Ashley; several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William Ashley, Ray (Regina) Ashley and Gerry (Phyllis) Ashley, along with 4 nephews.

    She will be sadly missed by her dearest and lifelong friend, Janie (the sibling she never had) and the whole Vathy family. Also a special thank you to her dear friend, Aggie for always being there for her.

   She was predeceased by her husband of almost 61 years, Francis C. Ashley; her son, Andrew Ashley; sister-in-law, Peggy Ashley and son-in-law, George Phillips

     Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
