I'm sad to learn of this. Don was a great guy, I met him when we took journalism classes at GCC. We went to see the Stones in Buffalo a couple years after our time at GCC. Wish I would have kept in touch over the years. What a nice guy.

I knew Don in college. I lost touch with him a long time ago when I moved away, but my memories of him are all pleasant. He was always smiling, sharing philosophical ideals, and was definitely a wonderful writer and poet. I remember he loved reading and quoting beatnik writers and Jack Kerouac was his favorite writer at the time. Don embodied the Zen/spiritual qualities in the way we wrote and interacted with others. I know he will be missed. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family.

Very sorry to hear of Don's passing. I'm not sure whether I met Don while a student at GCC (1972 - '74) or when I worked there in the office of the Director of Student Activities in 1978. Regardless, in our short association, Don made a lasting impression. He was a fan of writer Jack Kerouac which provided ample grist for conversation. I'm grateful for the views he shared during those conversations. Condolences to his family and friends.

I met Don when we went to GCC together around the mid 70's. He was a great guy who always took the time to have a conversation and a few laughs. My condolences go out to his brother and family I was saddened when I read that he had passed. He will be remembered him as a friend. John Dehm
