MaryAnn was a family friend of the Brodiens of LeRoy for many years, of Mary Brodien especially. MaryAnn took care of Mary’s hair for most of her later life and was a confidante and ‘buddy’ in Mary’s later years. But they had always been good friends, close pals, who enjoyed each other’s company. Often they would be at the Legion ‘making mischief’ and having a fine old time over their favorite tipples.
We, Christine and I, became closer friends with Mary Ann after Mary’s passing and kept in touch throughout the years with emails and visits whenever we were back in LeRoy. I particularly remember being impressed with MaryAnn’s collection of bottles she had in her house on West Main Street, I believe. MaryAnn and I had a special bond since we shared the same birthday - July 21 -, and we always exchanged birthday greetings. During Mary’s final year, MaryAnn was instrumental in sorting out some important matters for the family and we are most grateful for that, MaryAnn. Our sincere thanks. We will miss you.
~Peter (Jones)
We Brodien-Joneses are very saddened by the news of MaryAnn’s passing. Over the years she was a wonderful friend to all our family (my mother, Peter and myself, & our sons Ian and Derek). MaryAnn was a bit of a guardian angel to my mother, looking after Mary in her declining years, when I was unable to be there. She helped manage my mom’s business affairs, and the two spent many happy evenings having dinners at LB Grand and drinks at the Legion.
When the boys were young we always visited LeRoy in the summer, getting together with MaryAnn to watch the Oatka Festival parade. I remember how she helped sell my children’s novel when it was published in 1992. She had a beautiful home (I remember her collection of gorgeous antique bottles) and she loved to garden. We kept in touch through emails and ecards. MaryAnn always wrote long, detailed & often humorous emails, keeping us up-to-date on her and her family. She was so thrilled when her great-granddaughter Celeste was born, and over the years sent us many cute photos.
Always a loyal and generous friend, MaryAnn had a terrific sense of humor; she was a kind, generous, and very special friend. Peter and I last saw her in July 2023 when we took her to dinner at the Creekside Inn. As always, she was so much fun to be with.
Sending our heartfelt sympathy to MaryAnn’s family~
MaryAnn, we’ll miss you!

Maryann and I knew each other for most of the time I lived in Le Roy. We became good friends after our children were grown and would meet at the American Legion on Monday afternoons for the weekly drawing. After I moved to Floridan to be close to my family we often conversed on the phone. John and Barb and family so sorry for your loss.

To Mary Ann MsGirr's, family and friends.
My sincere condolences to your family. May Jehovah God provide the comfort needed to your family and friends during this difficult time.
We're so sorry for your loss. Please know that Jehovah God says there will be a resurrection for both the righteous and the unrighteous. Acts 24:15.
Also, Jehovah said "He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4.
