LeRoy ~ James R. Bolton, age 56, passed away Tuesday afternoon (July 2, 2024) at Highland Hospital in Rochester.

James was born in Gowanda, NY on December 17, 1967, to the late Robert and Adeline Bolton.

He was a 1986 graduate of Eden High School and went on to attend Alfred University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in Ceramic Engineering. James began his career as an optical engineer at Bausch and Lomb. After the company moved overseas, he began working for Kodak, where he spent the last 23 years in the same cubicle as the company transitioned to ITT, Harris, and now L3Harris. While there, he obtained two US patents for his work defending our country.

James loved collecting and fixing up his “project cars”. He enjoyed spending time with his boys out in his beloved barn. He was an excellent handyman and was proud of the work he put into building and maintaining his beautiful home.

James is survived by his wife, Amy; his four sons, Jeffrey, Jacob (Autumn), Matthew and Joshua; his daughter, Elizabeth (Jonathan) Schmidt; and two grandchildren, Aurelia Schmidt and Enzo Bolton. He is also survived by two sisters, two brothers, along with many nieces and nephews.
