Dear Sullivan Family, I'm so sorry to learn of the passing of Mr. Sullivan. He was a member of the Le Roy CSD Board of Education that hired me as the Wolcott Street Principal. He always did what was best for the students of the district and I will always be grateful for the opportunity to serve the Le Roy community. I am saddened to learn of Sully's passing this week. I am grateful to Sully for his guidance, support and friendship to me and the Kelsey family. Being part of the St Joes Drum corp has meant a the world to me. I do feel I am partly who I have become due to Sully. My condolences to Grace and the family. I am so sad to hear of Mr. Sullivan's passing. He and my parents were good friends (Tom and Thelma OMalley) and I had him as a teacher. Such a kind man who cared about everyone and his community so much. I will keep you all in my prayers. He will be missed.

Was so sorry to hear about Sully’s passing. I have read many tributes to Sully that talk about how when they were younger he was someone they looked up to and I have the same memories just they come from not the 1960’s but the 1990’s and 2000’s when I was a young man helping his Grandfather on the St. Joe’s equipment staff with my Grandfather, Tony and Jack and the booster sales girls Grace, Margo, and Anne. I still remember the first time he told me “don’t worry about a thing pal” and “just walk in like you own the place and they won’t ask you for a pass”. He taught me that if you are going to be apart of an organization do the work and wear the uniform with pride. He taught me a whole new meaning for the word “ice cream” and so much more. My deepest condolences go out to Grace and his family.

My life as a youngster was affected by Sully in so many ways. As a member of St Joes Drum Corps I was fortunate to have Sully as our leader. His dedication to us was unwavering and instilled the drive to succeed in us all. He will always be remembered for all he did for me. I know he made my life better.

Sully was like a father figure to many of us in St Joes in the 1960s and later in the 1990s when with Sullys guidance we started St Joes Alumni Corp My favorite memory was during a drum Corp retreat and after the competition ,waiting on the field to hear what placed we finished in the competition. The give away was when we saw Sully on the sidelines light up his cigar - that was the give away that the Corp had won the show . Love ya Sully / May you Rest In Peace and thank you for everything.

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Sully. What a kind man! I’ll never forget the first time I met him … it was in Scranton at the stadium for the DCA championship. He had a tshirt on with a picture of my dad on it. I had never seen it and laughed with him so hard, I was crying! One of my many memories of him.
